Hi! I'm Emily, and this is Palinka Shots.
I particularly enjoy natural light, textures, bright colors, and fun people - and I look forward to post-production just as much as I do taking the actual photos. I’m always learning something new and always excited to hear feedback from others. Every time I pick up my camera I try to take a photo that is better than the last.
Fun & Friendly
Every great photo should capture a story... a memorable feeling, occasion, or circumstance that we want to pause in time and keep forever. I find that when shooting, a fun + friendly + comfortable atmosphere is the best for everyone! I love to joke around, be silly, get to know you + your story, and make you feel great. This method has resulted in many memorable experiences during shoots, long-lasting connections and new friends, and treasured photos in which the joy can be felt long after I have taken the snap.
Palinka is a Hungarian moonshine that my awesome grandpa used to make in his backyard in Romania. I have many fun memories as a kid of collecting fallen plums and other fruits from the ground for the fermenting barrels, as well as stuffing myself full from the fresh ones right off the branches.
It’s a tradition at my mom’s to initiate newcomers (and of course returning guests) to pound a shot of this stuff. It’s pure, raw, powerful, and knocks you off your feet.
Hopefully these shots will have a similar effect :)
I am so thankful for the people I have worked with, and the nice things my clients have said about working with me:
"Emily has such an incredible eye and she truly captures moments that speak to the human emotion. And the icing on the cake is that she is a complete delight to work with! Our family shots have received so many comments from friends and family. I cannot recommend her enough and we look forward to leveraging her talents for years to come. "

"I first used Emily to photograph my wedding and I can’t begin to say how wonderful it was to work with her. She had tons of ideas and patiently listened to all of mine. We had a very intimate wedding with a small guest list and Emily fit right in. She had photos of all the best moments but was never intrusive in any way. We had some pre-set photo plans but she was also creative and improvisational with her set ups on the day, which lead to a great mixture of photos. And her photos are beautiful! The light was amazing and everyone looked great. I don’t know how she did it. But I love, love, love her and think she is incredibly talented. So it should come as no surprise that I wanted to use her again when my son was born. She came and took pictures of my son when he was ten days old and they are so beautiful. She was both patient and quick, which was incredibly helpful when trying to photograph a newborn with his own schedule and who doesn’t much care about your plans. She’s kind and funny and fun and just the best. I can’t wait to get her to come back and take some more pictures of our whole family.

"Emily is the absolute best. Not only does she have an incredible eye for detail, she is the sweetest! I cannot imagine a better photographer to work (& laugh!) with. She instantly puts you at ease, and then blows you away with her talent. I am looking forward to working with her many more times in the future. Thank you, Emily!"

"Good photo sessions need a good photographer, but great sessions need a good photographer and a sprinkle of magic. Emily brings the magic with her creativity and positivity! I can't stop smiling"

"Your photo shoots are so comfortable and fun, that even us less than photogenic people end up looking like they're naturals!!! It's rare that I look at a picture of myself and think... 'wow! I look good'!"
